~~William Kemp Bigelow, Jr. “Bill”, 75, of Madison died on July 8, 2016. A memorial service will be held at The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, 240 Southern Blvd in Chatham on Tuesday, July 12th at 2pm. Memorial visiting hours will be held at Wm. A. Born in Orange, the son of Kemp and Dorothy Bigelow, Bill was a longtime resident of Madison. He graduated from Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, VT and attended St. Lawrence University. Bill worked as a hosiery salesman. He was also an accomplished woodworker, which fulfilled his creative passions. The Green Mountains of Vermont were a part of his soul, and he cherished the time he spent there. Bill will be fondly remembered for the time and energy he continually gave to numerous charitable activities.

Bill was happily married to his wife Barbara for 46 years. He was the loving father of W. Kemp Bigelow, III and his wife Debbie; and Charles C. Bigelow and his wife Elisa. He is also survived by his younger sisters Nancy and Barbara, and his cherished granddaughters Lucy, Phoebe and Scarlett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of William K. Bigelow, Jr. P’99 to the Patricia Doyle Caprio Scholarship Fund at Colgate University, 13 Oak Drive, Hamilton, NY 13346; or in memory of William K. Bigelow, Jr. to the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, 475 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960.
