Wallace G. Blazier

Wallace “Wally’ G. Blazier, of New Providence, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Born and raised in Chatham, he has lived in New Providence since 1963. He was an engineer with Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies for 45 years. Wallace was a member of the Summit Old Guard, and the Union County Utilities Committee. He was involved with recycling, having established volunteer organizations to handle recycling in New Providence before the town took over. He was an avid reader who loved the outdoors.

Predeceased by his twin brother George D. Blazier, Wallace is survived by his wife of 52 years, Moira M. (nee: Shannon); daughter Doreen Murphy and her husband Joe, of Cranford, son Russell J. Blazier and his wife Christine of Seattle, WA, and son Curt M. Blazier and his wife Susan of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Daniel and Brendan Murphy, and Sophie and Lexie Blazier; brother Stephen R. Blazier of Hackettstown, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a service on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2:30pm at the Wm A Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 11am until the start of the service. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Wallace may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville NJ 07834.
