Vincent E. Antes, 88, of Chatham, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012.
Born in Manhattan, NY, Vincent grew up in Staten Island, and lived there until moving to Chatham in 2005. Vincent was a Sergeant in the US Army, and was stationed in Europe during WWII. He graduated from St John’s University in 1949. While living in Staten Island, Vincent was a parishioner of St Charles Church, and also a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church since living in Chatham. For 40 years, Vincent worked for Quantum Chemical Corporation, formerly National Distillers and Chemical Corporation in Manhattan. Vincent enjoyed gardening, and in his younger years, skiing, ice skating and bowling.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eva (nee: Krambach); dear children Vincent Antes and his wife Joyce of Morganville, NJ, Richard Antes and his wife Suzanne of Somers, NY, Barbara Boyd and her husband Tom of New Providence NJ, and Michelle Ryan and her husband Vincent of Tenafly, NJ; 7 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; brother Frank Antes of Sarasota, FL; sister Mary Kibble and niece Mary Elizabeth Hayes, of Bonita, CA.
