~~Valeria Waszkiewicz, 97, of Union passed away on January 3, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 767 Prospect St. in Maplewood on Monday, January 8th at 10am. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave, in Union on Sunday from 4 to 8pm. Born in Newark, the daughter of John and Valeria (Kolidick) Rueter, Valeria was a long time resident of Union. She had worked for JL Hammett Company for many years as well as for RCA in the 1940’s. An active member at St. Joseph’s where she was a member of the Rainbow Seniors, she enjoyed crocheting, word search puzzles, game shows and spending time with her family. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and how she loved life and took each day as it came.

Valeria was the beloved wife of the late Chester Waszkiewicz. She was the loving mother of the late Helen Monaco and Stephen Waszkiewicz. She was also the cherished grandmother of; Kathleen Fennimore, Susan Langston, Michael Monaco, Anthony Monaco, Pasquale Monaco and Justin Waszkiewicz; great grandmother of; Robert C. Fennimore, Christopher Langston, Brandon Langston, Mikella Monaco, Silas Monaco, Nora Waszkiewicz and Isaac Waszkiewicz.
