Theodore “Ted” Sieka passed away on January 29, 2015 in Sarasota, Florida with his wife by his side after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. His courage and faith during that time was an inspiration to all that knew him. Ted was born on November 26, 1942 in Bloomfield, NJ and moved to Whippany in 1972. He was a member of BAC Local #13/4 for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree and was a Director of the JayCees. He also volunteered as Director of the Hanover Township Ski Program for over 30 years. Ted was an advocate for handicapped children and worked in many ways for their benefit. He had a passion for life and was an avid Indy car fan and only missed 8 Indianapolis 500’s in over 40 years. He also loved to travel and spent many vacations in Siesta Key, Florida. One of his most memorable trips was to Poland where he found the birthplace of his ancestors.

Ted loved being known as “Whippany’s Oldest Teenager”. He never missed a party whether it was with the Rollovers, high school friends, family or anyone for that matter. His personality and smile was contagious and he loved everyone and everyone loved him.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Thaddeus and Agnes Sieka, and his sister Karen Scheifler. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Suzanne Yentzer Sieka, his daughter Kristin and her husband John Yacat, his son Marc and his grandchildren Dylan and Brynn Yacat. There was nothing more important to him than his grandchildren. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
