~~Susan L. Prochazka, 74, of New Providence passed away in Woodstock, VT on April 18, 2016. A Funeral Service will be held at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham on Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Fair Mount Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Born in Queens and raised in Stewart Manor, NY, where she graduated from Sewanhaka High School. She spent most of her weekends and summer vacations in the Hamptons and Greenport, Long Island, where she enjoyed the sun, surf and sand. She worked as a secretary in a bank in New York City before taking time to raise her family in New Providence. Once her children were older, Sue went to work at Bradley Funeral Homes. She helped by working part time as a secretary and in 1993 became a full time employee. Sue retired in 2007. Sue will be fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her kind and caring demeanor and her witty sense of humor. Many who knew her will also remember her strong love of sports, especially the New York Jets, New York Mets and the New Jersey Devils.

Sue was the beloved wife of the late Ted Prochazka. She was the loving mother of Jennifer Kopf and her husband Mark of VT, Christopher Prochazka of New Providence, and Karen Ryer and her fiancé Jason Walker also of VT. She is also survived by her cherished grandsons Bryan and Justin Kopf, sister in laws Patricia Byrne and Fran Prochazka as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville 07834.
