Rosa Moscone, 93, of Springfield, NJ passed away on September 5, 2016. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave. in Short Hills on Friday, September 9th at 10:00am. Entombment will follow at St. Stephen’s Mausoleum in Millburn. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Born in Alvito, Italy, the daughter of Peter and Maria Fanelli, Rosa came to the United States in 1958. First settling in the Bronx, she also lived in Millburn and Yonkers before moving to Springfield 15 years ago. She worked as a seamstress in her early years. For Rosa, it was all about taking care of her family. She was strong and independent. She was a fantastic cook, most known for her legendary sauce and her Easter Goat. She will be fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her faith.
Rosa was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Onorio. She was the loving mother of Anna Maria Klener and her husband Igor and the late Joseph. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Donna Bonnelli and her husband John, Joseph Moscone, Lauren Klener, Ariana Klener, and Robert Klener, and great grandchildren, Victoria and John Bonnelli. She is predeceased by her siblings, Lucia Fanelli, Remiggio Fanelli, Antonio Fanelli and Onorio Fanelli. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosa’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105
