Robert Leonard, 65, died December 14, 2017. Robert graduated from Regis High School in New York City. He went on to attend LeMoyne College and New York Law School. In a career spanning four decades, Robert practiced at Winthrop Stimson, Shanley & Fisher, and retired as a partner with Drinker Biddle & Reath. He spent his career as a litigator and was a certified civil trial attorney of the State of New Jersey. He was a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Civil Practice and Product Liability Committees, the American Bar Association, the Morris County Bar Association and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey.
He is survived by Kathryn, his wife of 39 years; daughter Kate Capilupi and her husband Ryan; son Thomas Leonard and his wife Lilien; six adoring and adored grandchildren: Charlotte, Genevieve and Alexander Capilupi and Michael, Madeleine and Mary Leonard. He is also survived by sister Kathleen Linehan and her husband Edward; brother Thomas Leonard and his wife Pat; brother Gerard Leonard; sister Tricia Kelly and her husband Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. Robert loved his family and friends and was dedicated to charitable causes and community service. He was a member of Baltusrol Golf Club and the Summit Elks.
Visiting hours will be held at the Bradley & Son Funeral Home in Chatham, NJ on Sunday, December 17 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in Chatham Township, NJ on Monday, December 18 at 10:00 am.
