Robert Halek
01/25/1951 - 02/08/2020

Robert George Halek, age 69, of Cranford passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Born in Matawan, NJ, he lived many of his early years in Roselle Park. After marrying his beloved wife Deborah, he lived in Union and Roselle Park before settling his family of seven in Cranford.

Robert worked alongside his father for 20 years in the printing business and then worked in multiple capacities for PSE&G for 20 years. Due to health complications, Robert retired early from PSE&G. He spent nine months miraculously recovering from a life threatening illness. Afterwards, he was able to work a part time position driving a shuttle bus for the township of Cranford and a full time position investing in the lives of his family and friends.

While raising his family in Union County, he was an active member of Calvary Assembly of God church for over 27 years where he served on the board for many years. He loved spending time down the shore, enjoyed owning and trading classic cars in his early years, and cherished the time he spent with his family and many dear friends.

Robert was a man of great faith, and he fully placed his hope and trust in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a loving and devoted husband, a faithful father, and a man of great perseverance. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Deborah, and his five children Daniel, Rachel, Steven, Philip, and Nathaniel. He is also survived by his four siblings, Cathy Kendra of Rahway, NJ, Nancy Manassah and her husband Tony of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jim Halek and his wife Mindy of Eastville, VA, and Carol Ingaro of Long Branch, NJ, along with many beloved nephews and nieces. He will be sorely missed by his family and anyone whose life he touched.
