Richard S. Paska

Richard Stanley Paska, 72, of Florham Park, died suddenly on April 19, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center. Richard was born on May 19, 1942, in Troy, NY to Mary (Penkal) and Elias Paska, deceased. Richard was proud of his Ukranian heritage and all four of his grandparents emigrated from that country. He spent his youth in Pearl River, NY, and lived in Wanaque, NJ, for many years prior to moving to Florham Park in 1995. Richard graduated from Pearl River High School and Westchester Community College, where his father taught for many years. Before his retirement, Richard worked in the field of computer aided drafting at The Plaza School and various local businesses.

Richard enjoyed the hobbies of gardening, fishing, and chess. His front yard flower and vegetable garden was widely known locally. Mr. Paska regularly attended classes at the Madison Area YMCA and treasured the many friends he made there. He was a member of the Holy Family Church in Florham Park.

Survivors include his wife, Candace Corey Paska, a son SSG James Paska, and his wife, Alexandra, of Marietta, GA. Also surviving are a step daughter, Megan Scaglione, of Florham Park; three nephews, Jeffrey, Brian, and Michael Todd, and his beloved canine companion, Dora.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, from 11:00 to 1:00 at William A. Bradley and Son Funeral Home located at 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ. A prayer service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
