Richard E. Boberg, 87, of Madison, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center.
Richard was born on December 5, 1927 in Little Valley, New York. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Erwin and Irene (nee Brown) Boberg.
Richard was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township where he and his wife were very active. He enjoyed playing golf, music, reading, and watching the news. He loved spending time with his family. He volunteered at the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown, NJ and was a past Master at the Fraternal Lodge #625 in Hamburg, NY.
Richard worked as a chemical engineer for Allied Signal, Morristown, NJ until his retirement and was a member of the retired employees association.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty C. Boberg. He is also survived by his daughter; Gail A. Hall and her husband David, and son; Eric W. Boberg. He was the cherished grandfather of Jason F. Hall and his wife Paige, Kevin R. Hall, and Melody C. Hall. In addition, he is survived by his siblings; sister, Alice B. Froelich, brother, David E. Boberg and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, John Boberg and sister, Joyce Kaslaitis.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, 240 Southern Blvd., Chatham, NJ 07928. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Community Soup Kitchen, 36 South St, Morristown, NJ 07960 or to the Memorial Fund at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township.
