Regina C. Tarleton, loving mom and grandmother, died at her home in Chatham, NJ, on Wednesday, August 1st, as her family held her hands. She had experienced declining health for several months. She was 88 years of age.

Regina raised her three children, tended a tranquil garden, entertained her friends, and enjoyed spending time with her neighbors in her home in Chatham, where she lived for more than 55 years. Regina and Walter loved the seas and skies of the Caribbean, and adored each other’s children and grandchildren.

Regina was born in New York City on April 12, 1930. She is survived by her son Robert Tarleton and his wife Gael of Seattle, WA; her daughter Patricia Oliver, her husband Brian, and their four children, Caitlin, Meghan, Colleen, and Brian; and her son James Tarleton, his wife Madeleine, and their two children, Courtney and Brett. She leaves behind four great grandchildren; her long-time companion and devoted friend Walter Kaufmann; and a close circle of friends and neighbors. Regina was preceded in death by her parents, James and Irene Conlin, and her sister, Irene Och. She was married formerly to Robert E. Tarleton, Sr.

The family extends their deepest thanks and gratitude to the nursing aides, nurses, and doctors of Lantern Hill, Overlook Medical Center, and Atlantic Home Care & Hospice.
