Rebecka Kidd
05/25/1969 - 04/02/2014

Rebecka “Becky” Kidd of Madison, formerly a long-time Chatham resident, passed away at her home on April 2, 2014, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 44.

Born in Morristown, Becky grew up in Chatham, graduating from Chatham Borough High School in 1987. She went on to study at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, CO, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Visual Communications in 1991. Becky was very active with the Chatham Emergency Squad, beginning in high school, and was currently a Crew Chief with the Squad. She was also a life-long member of Ogden Memorial Presbyterian Church in Chatham, where she had served as Christian Education Director. She moved to Madison in 1999.

Becky had started her own graphic design firm, R Designs, in 1999, which she was currently running. In 2012, she began working with Bradley Funeral Homes in Chatham, designing personalized keepsakes for families to memorialize their loved ones. Becky was extremely creative and her work left many families speechless with her special touches and attention to detail.

Most of all, Becky loved being a Mom and spending time with her family. Camping out, vacationing at the shore with close friends, going to a Yankees game, attending the Firemen’s Convention in Wildwood, it didn’t matter, Becky loved sharing all of it with her family.

She is the beloved wife of Donald and the loving mother of Colin & Tyler. Cherished daughter of Doris Sheats and the late Harold A. “Dewey” Sheats. Devoted sister of Nancy Mehalik and her husband Peter of Washington and Jeffrey Sheats and his wife Judy of Berkeley Heights. Caring aunt of Eric & Jennifer Mehalik.
