Phyllis Norwood (nee: Martin), 78, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Phyllis was a pediatric nursing student when she met her husband, Robert. After marrying, they moved to the United States in 1958 and settled in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn. Phyllis volunteered for over 20 years at JFK Hospital and Somerset Medical Center. She was an avid reader and writer, having penned many poems over the years. She fostered this love of reading and writing by taking classes in Creative Writing and Shakespeare at Union County Community College. Phyllis will also be remembered as being an animal lover.
