Paul Joseph McGlynn, of Mountainside, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at home in the arms of his family, after battling cancer and heart disease for several years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mountainside. Entombment St. Teresa’s Cemetrey, Summit. Visiting hours, Sunday, 3 to 7 pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Paul moved to Madison Twsp, Union and then to Mountainside. He was a 1954 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He attended Rutgers University, and is a 1960 graduate of Seton Hall University, with a BA in Social & Behavioral Science. Paul was Secretary of the Elizabeth Lion’s Club and was a CCD teacher for several years at St. Michael’s Church in Union. He was a retired Sr. Analyst for the State of New Jersey, Department of Personnel for 25 years. Prior to that he was the owner of the Ardsley Employment Agency in Elizabeth & Roselle Park. He is remembered for his love of family & friends, his warmth & kindness and that brilliant smile. He was an incredible husband to Barbara, his wife for over 51 years, and a loving father to his daughter Tara Kennedy (James), and cherished Papa to his grandson, Ryan Paul, in whom he found great joy in his accomplishments. Also surviving are his dear sisters, Patricia Hoey & Maria Dowling (Peter). He was pre-deceased by his parents, Elsie & Joseph McGlynn.
