Patricia C. Brady

Patricia C. Brady, of Millburn Township, died at Overlook Hospital in Summit on October 13, 2013. She was 84. Born in 1930, in Newark, she grew up in East Orange and later moved to Millburn Township. Following High School Miss Brady worked for New Jersey Bell. In 1965, she began working for Millburn Township at Town Hall as Assistant Municipal Clerk and the Registrar of Vital Statistics. She retired in 1992 after 27 years.

Prior to her illness, Patricia helped organize many fundraising activities and many trips to the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn. She had a remarkable memory and enjoyed her many conversations with those she came in contact with. She had a wonderful group of friends, many of whom have passed, that she was truly devoted to. She was also a relentless caretaker for her sister, Jackie, who died in March of this year.

She was the devoted sister of Frances Forrest (nee Brady) of Rockford, MI and the late Jacqueline Brady. She was the loving aunt to Michael Forrest of Landing and his children, Kyle and Kayla and Robert and Kim Forrest of Rockford, MI and their children Nick and Caroline. She is also survived by family members Thomas and Carmela Brady of Jackson; David Brady of Howell; Sean Brady of Jackson; Louise Rossner (nee Brady) of Middleburgh, NY; Matthew Brady of Santa Clara, CA and the O’Kane families of Old Bridge. The Forrest/Brady family are extremely grateful to Patricia’s caretakers, Monica Palma and Angela Espinosa, for their exceptional care and love they gave to her. Patricia become the beloved “grandma” to the many others that assisted in her care.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:15 am. Interment will follow at the St. John Cemetery in New York City. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass at Bradley, Smith and Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield.
