Olga Pasternak

Olga Pasternak, 82, of North Port, FL passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Hospice of New Jersey, Wayne, NJ.

Olga was born on July 24, 1932 in Drohobich, Ukraine. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hryhorij and Anna (nee Kashczak) Lachowycz

Olga attended high school in Berchtesgaden, Germany. Olga and her husband George owned and operated The Flamingo Resort on Lake George for over 35 years.

She was a member of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Ukrainian Choir, “Dumka”, and Ukrainian Sports Club. She served on the church board at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port, FL and also was a member in the Church Choir. Olga was a member of “MRIA” Ukrainian Ladies Quarlet; a member of UNWLA Ukrainian Choir, and board member of UNWLA Branch 56, North Port, FL. Olga was very proud of and involved in the Ukrainian community. First in New York City and later in North Port, FL.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Pasternak. She is survived by her son, George and wife Laura Pasternak of Lake George, NY, and daughter, Chrystyna Panycia of Lincoln Park, NJ. She was the cherished grandmother to Marko and Andrijko Panycia.

A visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Parastas at 8:00 p.m. at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ 07981. . A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 North Jefferson Rd, Whippany, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Ukrainian Cemetery, South Bound Brook, NJ.
