~~Meta E. Arndt, 96, of Union passed away on June 11, 2016. A Funeral Service will be held at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave in Union on Wednesday, June 15th at 11am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.
Born in Hasselberg, Germany, the daughter of Paul and Maria Zeidler, Meta was the youngest of eight siblings. She came to the United States in 1938 and resided in Union for many years. A longtime member of Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, Meta was a Sunday School Teacher, a Deacon and a member of the Women’s Association. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery.
Meta was the beloved wife of the late Ernst Karl Arndt. She was the loving mother of Irma Arndt and Arlene Philippoff and her husband George. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Joanna, Andrea and Karl and her great granddaughter Lydia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Meta’s memory may be made to Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, 888 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083.
