Mary Jane Crescas, 92, of Williamsville, NY and formerly of Ridgewood, NJ passed on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

Mary Jane was born on September 8, 1922 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nick and Grace (nee Bricker) Klein.

She proudly served in the Coast Guard during World War II. She was one of the 12 women in first class of Spars. She participated in War Bond Drives. Mary Jane made many public appearances which included announcing the Dodgers Baseball with Red Barber. She sang on stage and on the radio. She loved acting and was a member of the Joe Jefferson Players. At the age of 90, gave a lecture to her fellow seniors on the 75 famous people she had met in her lifetime. Mary Jane was a member of the Women’s Club, Ridgewood, NJ.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Victor Crescas. She is survived by a son, Bob Crescas, daughters, Mary Busacca and Barbara Bartels. She was the grandmother to Cole and Rae Crescas, Julianne Hobbs, and Marc and Scott Bartels , and great grandchildren, Amelia and August Bartels.

A visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Wm. A. Bradley and Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Ogden Memorial Presbyterian Church, 286 Main St, Chatham, NJ 07928. An interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Deborah Hospital, 200 Trenton Road, Brown Mills, NJ 08015.
