Marie Therese (Lyman) Meagher of Chatham Borough, NJ, died with her family by her side on Thursday, January 5, 2012. She was 76. Born and raised in the Chicago, IL, area, she and her husband lived in the Washington, DC, area before moving to Chatham in 1978.
Marie is survived by her husband of 52 years, James P. Meagher; children Kathleen Ann (Angelo) Raffa of Pearl River, NY, and Christopher James (Susan) of Nutley NJ; and grandchildren Grace Marie & Ava Clare Raffa.
Marie was active with the Literacy Volunteers of Morris County, NJ, teaching adults how to read and also teaching English as a second language. A graduate of St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN, she was a school teacher in Illinois, Maryland and New Jersey.
