Marie J. Rizzo, 89 of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Marie was born on August 30, 1928 in Newark, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Georgio and Columba (nee Pomponio) DeLuca.
Marie worked as a laborer at Tweezer Weld in Cedar Grove for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, crafts and playing cards. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel, Cedar Knolls, NJ,
Marie was predeceased by her husband Vito Rizzo in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Geri Vogel and husband Don. She was the cherished Nanny of grandson, Pat Vogel and great-grandchildren Jacob Sebastien, Elijah Logan, Benjamin Xavier, and Joel Maxx Vogel. In addition, she is survived by her godchildren; Anthony DeLuca and Madeline DeLuca and several nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her grandson, Donald Vogel, Jr. and four brothers and 1 sister.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ 07981. A prayer service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. An entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
