Scelfo, Lucille, (nee Abbate) 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11th at Berkeley Heights Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born in Newark, Lucille resided in Springfield for over 50 years. In 1943 she married Thomas Scelfo and the couple had three sons. She was an exceptional homemaker, always putting her family first. She was a longtime member of the St James Rosary Society and the Springfield Senior Citizens. She much enjoyed crocheting in her free time, but above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas (2002), she is survived by her sons Joseph and his wife Marie, Louis, and Leonard; her grandchildren Joseph and his wife Delayne and Tonia Cleveland and her husband Scott; three great grandchildren; and her brother Gene Abbate.
