Joyce Palazzi, 85 of Lynchburg, VA died on Thursday, September 26, 2019. She was the loving wife of Victor Palazzi for sixty-four years, and lived in Springfield, NJ for thirty-seven of those years, where she worked for the Springfield school district.
She was born on Wednesday, July 11, 1934, a daughter of the late William Hayer andKatherine Hayer. She is preceded in death by her infant son, David Palazzi, and sister Lois Steinberg of Mountainside, NJ.
Joyce was an avid cook, always looking for something new to surprise her family, and willing to share recipes with others. She could always be found on the sidelines cheering her boys on in their school sports, and was a loyal fan of the Yankees and Giants. Joyce enjoyed playing paddleball and volleyball whenever she could. She and her family spent many days at the Jersey Shore, where she and Vic built their dream retirement home.
In addition to her husband she is survived by; two sons, William Palazzi, and wife Jessica of Fort Collins, CO; Kenneth Palazzi and wife, Terry of Forest, VA; three grandsons, Nicholas Palazzi and wife, Danielle of Johnstown, CO, Christopher Palazzi and Joseph Palazzi both of Forest, VA; one granddaughter, Gina Palazzi of Fort Collins, CO, and one great-grandson, Coen Palazzi of Johnstown, CO.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the: Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, November 16, from 2 to 4 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home at 415 Morris Ave in Springfield.
