Loving Father, Brother & Uncle
Joseph F. Barbato, 77, of Whippany, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center.
Joseph was born on July 1, 1940 in Orange, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Constance (nee Danno) Barbato.
Joseph recently retired from Village Supermarkets where he worked for over 50 years as a Store Manager. He managed stores throughout New Jersey including; Springfield, South Orange, Garwood and Chatham. He was a member of Sons of Italy and was an avid traveler. He enjoyed spending time at the beach and was a car enthusiast.
Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie (nee Michell) Barbato and his brother Paul Barbato. He was the loving father of daughters; Jamie Perez and husband Danny, Jodi and Jacqueline. In addition, he was survived by his brother, James Barbato, nephews; Michael Barbato and wife Karen, Stephen Barbato and wife Alice, great-nephew; James Barbato, great-nieces; Taylor and Lindsay Barbato, and many cousins and dear friends.
Friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd in Whippany on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joseph’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
