John J. Saksa, 92, of Parsippany, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family.
John was born on February 26, 1923 in East Chicago, Indiana. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Barbara Saksa.
John served in the United States Navy during World War II as Seaman Second Class on the USS Ranger ship. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Whippany, NJ. John enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Anna Napoli Saksa. He was the father of Michael and wife Linda, Dennis and wife Fran, Peter and wife Theresa, and Phyllis and husband Joe Asmar. He was the cherished grandfather of Christy, Jennifer, Janinne, Kimberly, Christian, Christine, Lauren and Zachary and the great-grandfather of Jake, Ella, Savannah, Milania, Madison, Dylan, Logan, and Zoe.
A visitation will be Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ 07981. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, 100 Whippany Rd, Whippany, NJ 07981 An interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
