~~John Burkhardt “Jack” Frey, 81, of Mahwah, passed away September 13th, surrounded by his loving family, from complications related to surgery for pancreatic cancer. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham, NJ on Saturday, September 27th at 4:00 pm. Jack grew up in Livingston and attended West Caldwell High School where he was active in sports and played clarinet in the band. He graduated from Cornell in 1956 with a degree in Civil Engineering and began his career at DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware. After earning an MBA from the University of Delaware, he transferred into Marketing Research. He also taught at the U of DE as an adjunct professor for 18 years. He retired after 36 years with DuPont but continued working as a consultant after retirement. He also worked until the end of his life as a stock market analyst for a fund manager using a mathematical model he developed. Jack enjoyed jazz concerts, playing tennis, and vacationing in Siesta Key, Florida.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, John and Marion Frey, his first wife and the mother of his children, Joan Prout, and his second wife, Doris Goodman. He leaves behind his loving wife, Maia Rahill of Mahwah, his daughter Diane Frey of Midlothian, VA, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Bill Haines of Summit, his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Barbara Frey of Chester, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, who will all miss him dearly.
