John Romankiewicz

John Alfred Romankiewicz of Short Hills, NJ died on Saturday morning, June 25, 2016 at Overlook Hospital.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 1 at 11:15am at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Short Hills.

John was born on December 12, 1947 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Gordon Technical High School and the University of Illinois. He went on to complete his PharmD at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science before moving to New York City in 1973 to work at The New York Hospital, where he served as Assistant Apothecary in Chief and Assistant Professor of Pharmacology. He moved to Maplewood, NJ in 1976 to start his family. In 1983, he become owner and president of Scientific Therapeutics Information, Inc, a medical communications firm he ran successfully for over 30 years. He moved to Short Hills with his family in 1990, where he resided for over 25 years.

He is survived by Nancy (Dailey), his beloved wife of 46 years; his three sons: Christopher, and his wife Nicole, Michael, and John Patrick; and his sister Mary Alice Gniech.

John was a very generous, kind, and understanding husband, father, and brother. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially, his loving wife, Nancy. His favorite activities included skiing, tennis, working out with friends, travel, hiking, camping, and going to the beach in Nantucket. He will always be remembered as a man who knew how to “make it happen”. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in his memory to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.LLS.org.
