Jerry D. Walling, 91, of Madison, NJ passed away at his home on June 9, 2018.  Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, 24 Madison Ave. in Madison, on Saturday, June 16th at 11:00am. Interment is private.

Born in Kearny, NJ, the son of Jeremiah and Edith (Day) Walling, Jerry was raised in Lyndhurst where he graduated from high school in 1944. He lived in Madison for the past 63 years. Jerry attended St. Bonaventure College in NY, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. A computer analyst and programmer, he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City for 40 years until his retirement in 1988. Jerry was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Madison including membership in the Couples Club and serving as head usher. He was a 70 year member and Past Master of the Genesis Lodge #88 F&AM in Pompton Lakes. Jerry enjoyed reading and loved travel and cruises.

Jerry was the beloved husband of Inez (Stubbings) for 64 years. He was the loving father of Jayne Jason (Daniel), Craig Walling (Susan), Lynn Russell (William), Glenn Walling (Kristen), and Karen Kastel (Matthew). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Dawn, Dylan, Janelle, Deanna and Joy Jason, Megan and Elizabeth Walling, Frank Russell (Sarah), Shaun Russell (Becky), Jacob and Clara Walling, Luke and Grant Kastel, and Dale and Drew Walling as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Wayne Walling and his grandson Thomas Walling. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation at NPCF, P.O.
