James M. Brown
11/29/1935 - 03/13/2017

James M. Brown, 81, of Chatham Township, went home to Jesus and to his beloved wife Phyllis on March 13, 2017.

Jim graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a doctorate in electrical engineering and went on to work for AT&T Bell Laboratories (later Lucent Technologies) for more than 40 years, earning six patents along the way.

Jim was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, where he led a major building expansion project that was completed in 2007. He also served on the Chatham Board of Health for more than 30 years, many of those years as president.

However, his family remained his proudest accomplishment. He and his wife Phyllis, who preceded him in death, were married for 52 years and had three children and two grandchildren.

In his later years, he loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling the world with his wife, and playing golf.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Sandy Iannetta and husband John, Karen Brown, and Nancy Brown, and his grandchildren, Jessica and Michael Iannetta.

Relatives and friends are encouraged to attend a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, March 25th at 12pm at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, 240 Southern Boulevard, Chatham, NJ 07928. A reception in the church hall will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the PCCT Memorial Fund. For additional information or to leave the family a message of condolence, go to www.www.bradleyfuneralhomes.com.
