James A. Corcoran, Jr.95, of New Providence, NJ. passed peacefully on March 21, 2016. Born and raised in Summit, James has lived in New Providence since 1953. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. James was the owner/mechanic of Corcoran’s West Summit Garage for over 50 years. He is pre-deceased by his wife Dorothy Fiske Corcoran. James is survived by his three daughters, Peggy Pantini, Susan Oldroyd and Jamie DesChenes, 13 grandchildren, Dawn & Lou Melkowits, the late Jimmy Pantini, Scott Pantini, Jennifer & Chet Cieslinski, Shannon & Chris Eriksen, Tommy & Laura Murray, Missy L’Ecuyer, Jamie, James, Michael, Jackie & Kyle Murray, Albert & William DesChanes, and 15 great-grandchildren, Alex Oldroyd, L.J., Jenna & Megan Melkowits, Michelle Melkowits, Madison, Alexis, Emma & Devon Cieslinski, Jack & Tommy Murray, Taylor & Liz L’Ecuyer, Shaina Murray and Baby Emma Murray. A Celebration of James’ life will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 8pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham. Visiting hours, Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday at 11 am at Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in James’ name to a charity of your choice.
