~~Harry Muzyka, 89, of East Hanover passed away on April 16, 2017. A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 Jefferson Rd in Whippany on Thursday, April 20th at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at from 9 to 10:30 prior to the mass.
Born in Potik, Ukraine, the son of Wasyl and Maria (Kononpada) Muzyka, Harry had also lived in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1948 and then the United States in 1952. First settling in Newark, he moved to East Hanover in 1960. Harry was a machinist with Worthington Pump in Harrison for many years and was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Harry was the beloved husband of the late Maria Muzyka who passed away in September of 2016. He was the loving father Eugene Muzyka and Irene Muzyka. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughters, Veronika and Victoria. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry’s memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Church.
