George Stiner, Sr.

George S. Stiner, Sr., 89, of Florham Park, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Green Village, George moved to Florham Park in 1956. A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean War Award. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #43, in Florham Park and Past Commander. He also belonged to the 40/8. George was a member of the Green Village United Methodist Church.

For 60 years, George was the caretaker for a private estate in Harding Township. He also worked for the Florham Park Borough Department of Public Works from 1982-1995, acting as Foreman for the last two of those years.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2005 at 10am at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham. Interment will follow at New Vernon Cemetery, New Vernon. Predeceased by his wife Emma; George is survived by his children, Judy Miele and her husband Robert, George Jr., and his wife Elizabeth, Barbara Feola and her husband Patsy, and Steven and his wife Valerie; grandchildren Rachel, Robert III, Jenna, Emma, Evie, Alyssa, Lauren , Emily, Debbie, Teddy and Timmy; sisters in law Florence Stiner and Gail Stiner; nieces, nephews, caring neighbors and friends, his longtime friend Mr. D’Allessandro, and his caregiver Maidah.
