George R. Dowd, 79, of New Providence, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
George was born on August 16, 1935 in Morristown, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. and Gladys (nee Burnett) Dowd.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved Acapulco and Sea Isle City. He was a loving and very generous person. He worked for Morristown Lumber for over 35 years.
He was survived by his beloved sister, Joan Kurz and five nieces and nephews: Kelly Salazar, Herman, Dana, Jack and Dan Kurz and four great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Dowd.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ. A graveside service will be Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ.
