Emily “Ermaline” Weiss

Emily “Ermaline” Weiss, of Morristown, New Jersey and formerly of Quogue, New York passed away on Tuesday, September 01, 2015 at Garden Terrace, Chatham, NJ.

Emily was a published author writing many feature articles for the Morris County Magazine and was a reporter for the Observer Tribune newspaper. She also was moderator/hostess for a early talk show on Morris Cablevision called “Think Twice with Emily Weiss.” Her specialty was researching and writing biographies and family histories of prominent New Jersey and Morris County families.

Emily also served as Commissioner of the Morristown Environmental Commission and was the recipient of the President’s Award of Excellence for her work in that area.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sidney D. Weiss, by her son, Peter Weiss, and her sisters Theresa Crossin and Louise Gibler. She is also survived by her niece Paula Jacobs and nephews Louis, Peter and Glenn Crossin and Thomas Devereux, as well as several grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Romano, and her parents Peter Romano and Louise Romano.

Services will be private but a memorial service celebrating her life may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
