Elizabeth L. “Betty” Scheffer, 88, of Union, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.
Betty was born on March 28, 1927 in Newark, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Louise (nee Horn) Scheffer.
Betty loved traveling all around the world. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church, Union, NJ where she was very active. Betty was an avid reader and loved baking with her mother. She was a caring, kind, and giving person who will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
She is survived by her cousins, Raymond Donahue and wife Trisha and Barbara Horn Lindsey and several other cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the funeral home. An interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
