~~Elizabeth McGreevy, 89, of Union passed away on June 1, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel, 1212 Kelly St in Union on Saturday, June 4th at 10:15am. Interment is private. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave in Union on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm.

Born in East Newark and raised in East Orange, the daughter of Armand and Elizabeth Daudelin, Betty also lived in the Vailsburg section of Newark before moving to Union in 1964. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ward and Company Insurance Agency in Springfield for over 30 years before retiring in the early 1990’s. Betty continued to work as an office manager for a real estate office in Rahway. A longtime volunteer with the Union County Nutrition Program, she was also active in St. Michael’s Church having been a member of the Seniors Group and a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Betty served as an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian American Civic Organization of Newark. She loved ballroom dancing and enjoyed many years of dazzling others with her skills. She was active in the Union County dance community and also enjoyed travel.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late James A. McGreevy, Jr. She was the loving mother of Laurita Warner and her husband Art and Jim McGreevy and his wife Rachel. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughters, Allison Schultz and her husband Bob, Kristen Casey and her husband John and Elizabeth McGreevy, great grandchildren, Ruby and William Schultz, brother Raymond Daudelin and his wife Rosemarie and sister Lillian Wright and her husband Robert as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband William Cretaro and her brothers, Armand and Leo Daudelin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to St. Michael’s Church Food Pantry, 1212 Kelly St, Union, NJ 07083.
