~~Elizabeth Evelyn Brucker “Betty”, 97, of Fellowship Village and Summit, passed away on July 5, 2016. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Springfield, 37 Church Mall, Springfield, on Tuesday, July 12th at 11:00am followed by a burial at Hollywood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield on Monday from 5 to 8pm. Born in Newark, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Remlinger, Betty had lived in Summit for 41 years before moving to Fellowship Village in 1995. A member of Canoe Brook Country Club since 1949 and a charter member of the Normandy Beach Yacht Club she was also a member of the Manasquan River Country Club and served on the Children’s Services Committee in Union for 50 years. She was a long time, active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Springfield and enjoyed dancing, travel (especially cruises) and bridge. Known for always being right, Betty will be fondly remembered for her kindness and her love and devotion to her family and friends.

Betty was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Henry Brucker. She was the loving mother of Robert J. Brucker and his wife Debbie and Janice B. Winchester and her husband Steve O’Connell. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Elizabeth, Hank, Andrew, Jay, Brian and Tom, two beloved step grandchildren Lindsey and Drew, and seven adoring great grandchildren; Jack, Paige, Pierce, Colin, Gabriel, Grant and Ashley.
