~~Edwin R. Busch, 86, of Union passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 3, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave in Union on Tuesday, April 7th at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to the service.

Born in Newark, Edwin lived in Irvington before moving to Union at the age of 8. Upon graduating from Union High School in 1948 he started his own dry cleaning business in his garage. In 1961 Edwin opened his first store in Hillside and later opened stores in Elizabeth and East Orange. After retiring in 1996 he continued working part time at Pilgrim Liquors. Edwin served his country in the Air Force during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Indian Valley Sportsman Association. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening and also enjoyed collecting butterflies and making model airplanes.

Edwin was the beloved husband of 65 years to his childhood sweetheart Marie ( Kriegsmann). He was the loving father of Linda Busch Chelis and her husband Dr. Bernard Chelis, Deborah Cohen and her husband Barry and Edwin B. Busch and his wife Margaret. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Edwin V. Busch, Richard Cohen, Kimberly Kautz, Jonathan Cohen, Theodore Chelis, Derrick Busch and Michael Cohen and great grandchildren, Kaylee and Christopher Kautz, and Abigail Janice Cohen. His brother Richard Busch died previously.
