Cynthia E. Ziegler, (nee Andelfinger), 78 of Chatham, NJ, passed peacefully on September 20, 2018. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. Cynthia has lived in Chatham since 1973. Cynthia’s professional career was as a teacher at Thomas Edison Middle School in Westfield, NJ. She was fully invested in everything she did and was deeply committed to her students and their learning experience. Science was her passion and this passion drove her to continue her studies and earn her Master’s Degree in Microbiology from Montclair State College.
One of Cynthia’s favorite pass times was time spent at the beach, where she could be found with her toes in the lapping waves. She just loved being by the water and staying often until the sun was ready to set. Her favorite spot has always been Island Beach State Park where she visited with siblings in early years and with her children later in life.
Cynthia is pre-deceased by her husband, Frederic, daughter, Lauren Ziegler & son Joseph. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Figurelli and son David Ziegler, grandmother of Sarah & David Ziegler and her siblings, George Andelfinger & Lillian Trobich. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm, with a Prayer Service at 12pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clark. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cynthia’s name may be made to: Chatham Emergency Squad.
