Cruz C. Newes, 87, passed away peacefully July 23 in Madison, NJ. She was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on May 3, 1930. She worked for over 40 years as a RN and an educator having gained a masters degree in nursing education from Columbia University Teachers College. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years; George, (2006).. She is survived by two sisters; Nivea and Aurea, her son Steven, her daughter in law Christine, and her grandchildren; Peter, Carolyn and Brian. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10 am at Corpus Christi Church in Chatham, NJ, followed by internment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.
