Charles A. Atanasio

Beloved Family man & Friend

Golf Enthusiast & NY Giant Fan

Charles A. Atanasio, of Union, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014. He was a beloved family man & friend who was known as a man of great character, positive outlook, kindness, thoughtfulness and dry sense of humor. Not surprising to his family, his last spoken words was a joke and he selflessly sought to comfort his family during his illness. He had a 32 year career with the Ford Motor Company in the Interiors Department. He finally joins the love of his life, his wife Maureen in Heaven whom has been there since 1993.

He loved playing golf and was a big NY Giants fan. His last round of golf was the best he ever played and it was very fitting that it happened that way.

He has been a resident of Union for almost 40 years.

He leaves behind his sons Charles Jr and John; daughters Laurie and Patty; and 11 grandchildren. He had three older sisters Pauline, Ann and Theresa that have pre-deceased him.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., corner of Vauxhall Rd. on Monday from 7-9pm. There will be a funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union.
