Carmine Giovanello, Jr., 87, of Springfield, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Peggy’s Coloney’s House, Scotch Plains, NJ.

Carmine was born on June 21, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carmine and Antoinette (nee Ciardi) Giovanello.

Carmine worked as a bartender for many years at The Arch, Short Hills, NJ, Rib&Bib, Berkeley Heights, NJ and lastly the Beacon Hill, Summit, NJ. He was an avid fan of the National Football League and enjoyed watching Golf.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Giovanello of 30 years. He was the father of sons; Guy Giovanello and Don Giovanello and wife Gloria and daughter, Toni Gibson and husband D’Juan. He was the cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was also survived by his brother, Scott (Margaret) Massenzio and his nephew, Mark (Mary Ann) Carangi. He was predeceased by his son, Jeff and sister, Carmel.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ.
