Barbara Ann Ryan, 75, of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home.
Barbara was born on September 23, 1942 in Bethlehem, PA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Thelma (nee McCardle) Ryan. She grew up and resided in Summit, NJ and graduated from Summit High School and attended Kutztown University. She furthered her education at Woods School of Business and Shorthand, NY.
Barbara’s career started as an Executive Secretary at Walter L. Aurnhammer & Associates, W.R.Grace & Co, and Elliot J. Axelrod Associates. She worked as an Executive Secretary and Personal Assistant at First Jersey Securities/ Due Process Stables from 1981-1997. She later worked as a Personal Assistant to the President of Star Management Services from 1997-2000. Lastly, she worked as an Executive Assistant at Due Process Stables Golf Course from 2000 till she retired in 2016.
Barbara was a warm and caring person who enjoyed being with her friends celebrating extended family milestones and giving advice late into the evening when asked. Barbara enjoyed going to the Paper Mill Playhouse and seeing live theater and concerts. She was an avid movie fan and art lover. Barbara was also an independent world traveler. She was the family memories keeper and she never failed to make her friends and family, especially her two nephews, feel special and loved. Barbara was a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church, Summit, NJ.
She is survived by her siblings; sister, Mary Jane Ryan-Handlan and her husband Mark and brother, Paul B Ryan, Jr. She was the cherished aunt of Sean Ryan Handlan and wife Caitlin and Christopher Ryan Handlan and wife Kayla.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April, 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday April 12 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Bradley, Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ. An inurnment will be private.
