Barbara Ann Burns of Castle Rock Co, formally of Summit, NJ died after a short illness on February 1st. Barbara was 79 years old born on November 2, 1936. She was born in Summit daughter of the late William P. Burns and late Margaret A. Burns (nee Trengrove). Barbara was a graduate of North Plainfield High and upon graduation found employment at Somerset Bank and Trust. Barbara stayed in banking until her retirement ending her service with Bank Of America.
Barbara’s enjoyment in life was travelling, with her favorite being to Jackson Hole, Wyoming which she visited frequently. Her wish was to always live out West and it finally came true when she left Summit and travelled to Castle Rock Colorado to be nearer her cousin Gail Greenwood (nee Smith). Gail and her husband Dick truly made Barbara’s last days comfortable as possible.
Barbara leaves behind her cousins, Elizabeth Hundterfund, Mary Jane Walton, Virginia Cash, Janice Trengrove, Sharon Umbs, Edward Trengrove, John Trengrove, Kenneth Trengrove, Mari Beth Domanski, Maureen Tapp, James Trengrove, Thomas Trengrove, Gail Greenwood and Joyce Hedden
A Memorial Gathering will be held, Friday, February 19th from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, Feb 20, at 9:30 am., at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit.
