Anthony F. Yavorski

~~Corporal Anthony f. Yavorski was born in Whippany, NJ and lived there most of his life. He served as Technician Corporal with the 515th Ordinance Company H.M., serving in England, Normandy, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, and Germany from 1942-1945. He was recipient of the American Service medal, European/African Middle East Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Rifle Medal, Victor Medal, and American Theater Ribbon.

He worked for Whippany Paper Board Company as a foreman and Millwright for 33 and a half years. He was last employed by Midland Ross Corporation as a millwright in Livingston, NJ.

He was a member of International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Local #3, retired in 1988. He was a member of the Whippany Fire Company, NJ, Exempt Firemen’s Association, Polish American Club of Whippany, and Our Lady of Mercy Church of Whippany. He was also a member VFW F.O. Robert C. Gulick Post 5351, and American Legion Post 155.

He loved baseball and played in the Morris and Somerset League, Morris County (GMCB) League, Dover Twilight League, and also played with the Champion Whippany Fire Company team. He loved to dance, especially the polka, and loved planting flowers around his house.

He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Nee Minerowicz), his parents John and Margaret Yavorski, sisters Catherine Russing and husband Charles, Stella Grochowski and husband Edward, brother John Jr. and his wife Martha, and Michael. He is survived by his daughters, Maryann Boutillette, Julia Tibaldo and husband Frank, Anne Englesson and husband John, and Katherine Brunner and husband Jeff, as well as granddaughters Jennifer Pinola and husband Kris, Michelle Hudgens and husband Jamie, Andrea Addesso and husband Jay, Victoria Brunner, grandson George Englesson, and great grandchildren Frank Lee Pinola, Adriana Addesso and A.J. Pinola. He also is survived by his brother, Stanley.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10am at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd., in Whippany. Interment will follow a St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whippany. There will be a visitation on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., Whippany.
