Anastasia “Anne” Foyle Narwid took her final journey on November 21, 2017 at the age of 98. She resided in Berkeley Heights at the time of her passing. Anne was born March 12, 1919 and grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. In 1939 Anne married Henry Walter Narwid, her husband of 58 years. Anne and Henry lived in East Orange, NJ where they raised three children Henry, Thomas and Beverly. Anne and Henry eventually retired to Cedar Glenn West, NJ. Anne worked very hard all of her life with a smile and spent nearly 30 years waitressing at Vera’s Restaurant and Frederick’s Tavern in East Orange, NJ, and Tom’s Restaurant and Catering in Newark, NJ. Caring for her family was her greatest joy. Anne loved to dance and bowl and she would play the piano at every opportunity. Her independent spirit was forever present and Anne took great pride in her wardrobe, appearance, and collection of designer wigs. Family and friends will best remember her beautiful smile, which came easy as did her wonderful sense of humor and love of life.
Anne is predeceased by her husband, Henry in 1997. Anne leaves her sons Henry (Christine) Narwid and Thomas (Joan) Narwid and a daughter Beverly Narwid (Alfonse) Marcantuone, 9 grandchildren: Eileen, David, Tracy, Jamie, Heather, Kim, Darren, Tara, Melissa and 13 great-grandchildren: Drew, Daniel, Emily Jason, Ethan, Katelyn, Jessica, Luke, Andrew, Salvatore, Rachel, Nicholas and Jillian
The family will receive friends at Wm. A. Bradley and Son Funeral Home in Chatham, NJ on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 4-8 pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
