~~Andrea Pizzuto, 78, of New Providence, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016. Born and raised in Palermo, Sicily, Andrea emigrated to the United States in 1972, and settled in Brooklyn, New York. He then lived in Staten Island, New York for almost 20 years before moving to New Providence, New Jersey in 2006. Andrea worked as a longshoreman for AG Shipping Maintenance in Brooklyn until his retirement. He cherished his family; each and every moment spent with them meant the world to him.
Predeceased by his sister Agata Catanzaro; Andrea is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Giovanna (nee: Orfanelli); children Tommaso and his wife Debra, Filippo and his wife Marta, Antonina Marchini and her husband Mario, and David and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren Andrew, Giulia and Daniela, Izabella, Sofia and Olivia, and Sabrina and Lilliana Pizzuto, and Giovanna, Gabriella and Michael Marchini; brother Salvatore Russo and sister Gaetana Bompartito.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10am at the Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 1-3pm, and 6:30-9pm at the funeral home.
