Gregory Allen Granger
03/24/1956 - 11/14/2019

Gregory Allen Granger, 63, of Chatham, passed away at home with family by his side on Thursday, November 14, 2019 after a valiant two-year-long battle with cancer. He was born March 24, 1956 in Summit, New Jersey to Gordon and Marilyn Granger.

Greg grew up in Chatham, graduating Chatham Township High School, Class of 1974, and then obtaining a Business Degree from Bryant College in Smithville, Rhode Island in 1978.

Greg’s business career was in Finance. He worked  in compliance on the American Stock Exchange. Other work involved advising clients at SAP Consulting, and Vanguard in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Gifted with a good mind and keen memory, he had to study in depth any subject he found to his liking, whether it be chess, martial arts and the lives and habits of wildlife, especially birds. With Donna, he loved hiking in the Great Swamp in all seasons, and would bike for hours through scenic park areas.

His greatest passion was in national and international politics. He was a daily caller to all of the radio talk show hosts who regularly invited him to discuss his opinions. Nationwide, people knew him as “Greg from Chatham.”

Greg is survived by the best love of his life, his wife Donna; his parents Gordon and Marilyn; sisters Lynn G. Warfield (Mark) and Cynthia G. Temple; brother Douglas W. Granger (Anna); niece Katherine Warfield; nephews Peter Warfield, J. Taylor Temple, and Chase Temple; maternal Uncle Jack Hartwig (Donna) and special friends Frank, Rick and Spencer.

Celebration of his life will be on Saturday, November 23, 2019. He suffered greatly, with great courage. We are thankful he is in a peaceful place with God. Memorial Donations may be made to Chatham Emergency Squad, 45 Spring Street Chatham, NJ 07928 or to The Raptor Trust, 1390 White Bridge Road, Millington, NJ 07946.
