William (Bill) Tribus Jr. (77) passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ after a valiant battle with cancer and heart disease. He was born in Swedesboro, NJ in 1943 and raised by his parents Freda and William Tribus.
Bill graduated from Seton Hall University in 1965 with a BS in Business Administration and became a Certified Public Accountant. He served as President of the NJ Society of CPAs in 1984 and retired from Sobel & Company in 2004.
Bill had a passion for cooking which he used as a platform for bringing family and friends together. His specialty, and a family favorite, was pierogies – handmade with his loving wife 54 years, Carol “Suzie” Tribus. Bill also enjoyed golfing, sipping bourbon, and crossword puzzles.
Bill is survived by his wife Carol Tribus of Morristown, NJ, his three sons and their spouses (Bill & Vickie, Mark & Kim, and Brian & April Tribus), his daughter Kathleen (Tribus) Hallas and her husband Erik, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association. A ceremony to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
Bill’s family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and other medical service providers who cared for Bill over the past few years and all those who are currently risking their lives to care for others during this pandemic. May God bless you all.
