William J. Zimmerman, 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Overlook Hospital. Born in Newark, Mr. Zimmerman has lived in Union for 82 years. William was a construction electrician for IBEW Local #164 in Paramus for over 60 years, retiring 30 years ago. Before that he was a shipbuilder with the Kearny Shipyard. Mr. Zimmerman was a Navy Veteran of WWII. William is survived by his wife Florence M. Zimmerman (nee Merbler), his three daughters and their spouses, Karen and Richard Golding, Arleen and Chris Long, Ellen and Tom Regner, five grandchildren, Eric, Daniel, Keith, Emily and Jane.
